I'm pretty sure I should have my map complete by this weekend. It's hard when you got to do it an hour at a time, but I can get a good amount done in an hour. I have the idea and objectives I want for invasion, but wondering if they can be done.

1st objective: A territory base objective. I know how to implement this one. The question is ion regards to the second and third objective.

2nd objective: I would like the second objective to be obtaining the bomb.

3rd objective: Planting the bomb.

Can it be broken down like that. I know you can have an object based objective and a bomb based objective, but can you have your object based objective be the bomb? Please let me know if I'm not making any sense.

Anyways, if I can get these setup by this weekend, do you think we can get around enough people to test it?

Ok so the best way for to do this.

First Building the objective.

Place a Hill Marker (for a territory like capture)
Press X for the tools menu
Go to the Advanced sub menu
Set your spawn sequence to the corresponding phase. (1,2, or 3)
Then set the Label to INV_OBJECTIVE

You can do that for as many objectives as you want. As long as they have the same phase and label they should work.

Now for the second phase to obtain the bomb
You can't make the 2, one phase. What I would recommend is making the second phase a territory phase and placing the bomb spawn in the same place.

So for the second phase copy the above instructions
For the third phase
Place a Capture Plate, place it in the area you want to bomb to spawn
Press X for the tools menu
Go to the Advanced sub menu
Set the spawn sequence to 3
Set the Label to INV_OBJ_FLAG

Then Create another Capture Plate
Place the plate where you want the bomb to be taken
Press X for the tools menu
Go to the Advanced sub menu
Set the spawn sequence to 3
Set the Label to INV_OBJECTIVE

That should be the setup you need
If that for some reason does not work. When I'm off work later today I'll hop on and help figure it out.

Thanks man, I'll give it a shot. I'm getting really close to getting it done. I have also implemented an elevator that works great. I don't have the updated version on my file share, but after I get some more work done tonight, I will upload it.

Cool you can check out my invasion map on my file share right now. It's not yet complete but I have some really cool features that I think you might like.

As an Update for the competition

Im adding a 1st Place reward for this competition

The person who gets first place in the competition will receive a 1600 Points card.

So Hopefully we'll see some more people entering this competition



As we make more and more competitions I will be trying to make the prizes bigger.

Wow!....that's awesome....you just made me lose future sleep. I hope more people do sign up for this. I believe we'll see some great ideas. Kudos to you for putting up some money for the sake of the community. I've been hitting up the forums on xbox.com trying to find people who are trying to setup custom games or help with creating maps in forge and pointing them to our forum. I hope to try and bring some more traffic to the site.

I have downloaded it and will be checking it out later when I get home. Hopefully me working on an invasion type for my own map will help me with what you have going.

Sorry about last night again....lol. My girlfriend wasn't in the best of moods and got frustrated because she kept getting killed at the only entrance into the base. She did stop playing, but it was only the last 10 seconds of the round.

So is Storm the map you would like us the forge. I was expecting more of a blank canvas with objectives in place, but I do think it's a cool map with great potential. There's a few things I would change, but I guess that's why we're working on it. I love the D-day style spawn points that deter spawn killing. The satellite was my favorite part and I'll be keeping that in for sure. IT also looks like we got some new members. I guess my messages on the forums weren't in vain. I hope this results in more people to test maps.

No I needed to build a working map So i could know how to build the objectives
I'll be releasing the built Objectives on a blank canvas tonight when I get home.

Hyper,

I started creating a map based on what you gave me and it's coming along pretty good. Do you have any resources on creating game types? Also, one of the territories (hill marker) got lost into a mountain. I created a new one, but will the one that's stuck prevent the objective from being completed? Can you make things go away at the beginning of a phase?

We should make the next competition a race track. I have few ideas for one of those as well.

Concerning the objectives, as long as they have the same Spawn sequence and Game Type Label they will all work but only one will need to be captured.

In terms of resources for creating Game Types, I've yet to find out. However its pretty easy.

Create a custom game, select the game type invasion. Go to the game options menu and you can customize everything.

You can customize the loadouts, you can change everyones speed, you can change who is attacking and who is defending, etc...
